The Long Distance Collection
Triumvirate ‘Etterbak – Triple Silver Barcelona – Barcelona Crack’
These are three of the greatest Barcelona cracks ever to have existed. But it was not an easy task for Roger to get his hands on them... Roger did not give up and he managed to add these three heavyweights to his Royal Collection. Not only did they become the key players for the overnight long distance, they have also become the representatives of the Royal Collection. Roger Debusschere is the only fancier to own three of the most outstanding cracks in the international long distance competition.
Batenbrug-Van de Merwe, the 1st national marathon champion of The Netherlands in 2011, is a great fancier at international level and has been one of the great players in the long distance for the Netherlands! He owes much of his success to probably one of the best breeders world wide, breeding legend ‘Witbuik’! This world class breeding pigeon has a most impressive list of references. Thanks to direct purchases and joint breeding many of his descendants are now part of the Royal Collection!
Chris Hebberecht is specialized in winning national titles and national ace pigeons! This has been without a doubt one of the most successful long distance lofts in Belgium in the last ten years. Obviously the ‘Royal Collection’ would not be complete without some direct descendants of two of today’s top breeders from Evergem: stock father ‘Champion’ (winner of a 2nd National ace pigeon long distance KBDB 2005) and long distance champion ‘AXL’ (winner of a 1st Nat. ace pigeon long distance).
Roger Florizoone and Andre Colbrandt
The name of Andre Colbrandt will always be linked to the late Roger Florizoone. The two had been close friends for many years, so it is no surprise that the family of pigeons of Andre Colbrandt is mainly based around the excellent marathon flyers of Roger Florizoone. With these birds he reached the podium more than once, winning such titles as ‘National champion long distance KBDB’ and ‘National ace pigeon long distance’. At the sale of Andre Colbrandt pigeons Roger Debusschere could purchase Andre’s number one breeding bird ‘Blauwe Lucienne’. She is the dam of the 1st Nat. St. Vincent against 10,020 yearlings in 2005 and she is a direct Florizoone as a daughter of the world famous ‘Witneus’! Soon some direct descendants of some other top class birds of Florizoone would follow in his footsteps and would move to Lokeren as well.
